Ridable Wind Directions: NW, N, NE, E
Getting There: Take I-94 to N. River Rd. exit, go east towards Harrison Township. Go two miles and turn left on Conger Bay Dr. Go over the bridge and look for Blue Lagoon and Detroit Kiteboarding on your right.
Scenario:
Expansive shallow riding area that works well on northerly and easterly winds. A large lawn allows ample room for kite rigging and launching. Sketchy launch.

 Ridable Wind Directions: SE, S, SW
Getting There : 1-94 to Metropolitan Pkwy, go east into Metro Beach Metro Park. Enter through toll booth ($4 daily, $20 annual) and follow signs to the right for Day Sail launch.
Scenario:
Large, shallow riding area with steady southerly winds. Being the closest spot to Metro Detroit there will likely be a big crew of kiters on a good day.
Sketchy launch.

 Ridable Wind Directions: SW, W, NW
Go east on M29 / 23 Mile Rd. towards Algonac. Drive about 10 miles and look for the Harsens Island Ferry. $6 covers the round trip. Once off the ferry turn left and follow the winding road 10+ minutes. Look for the grassy launch in the middle of the cul-de-sac.
Scenario:
Big, shallow Muskamoot Bay, fantastic on SW and W. Good learning spot with forgiving depths and firm, sandy bottom. Sketchy Launch.

Ridable Wind Directions: NE, N, NW
Go to Canada, Eh. Take the Tunnel or Ambasador Bridge to highway E.C. Row.
Go East on E.C. for 20km, turn left at the Belle River Optimist Park just before the bridge. Go over the railroad tracks and into the dirt parking lot at the beach.
Scenario:
Located 20 minutes from the border, Belle River has a small sandy beach to launch from and has a big, shallow riding area!

Rideable Wind Directions: S, SW, W, NW
Take the Algonac ferry to Walpole Island, Canada.
Turn right off the ferry then a quick left will take you into Wallaceburg.
Go right on HWY 40 about 10 km and make a right on Electric Line Rd. Make a quick left-right jog and follow the road to the water.
Scenario:
MBay is a huge, shallow, marsh laden bay that is great on SW or W winds.
A great spot for learners and advanced kiters will find some of the best flatwater slick riding anywhere.
Water launch only!
